The Many Uses of Prednisone Generic

Prednisone generic is considered as a corticosteroid medication that is mainly used as an effective immunosuppressive drug.  Prednisone generic can be used to treat particular inflammatory disorders such as moderate allergic attacks, and when prednisone generic is used at higher doses, it can treat some types of cancer.  Take note that prednisone generic has significant serious side effects when taken for too long. Contact your physician immediately if you took prednisone generic and you are experiencing severe upper stomach pain, depression, tarry or bloody stools, vision problems, eye pain, moodiness, or shortness of breath.

To ensure that prednisone generic is entirely safe for you to take, let your physician know if you have the following: tuberculosis, a history of malaria, diabetes, kidney disorders, liver disease, any ailment that causes diarrhea, osteoporosis, glaucoma, cataracts, colitis, history of stomach ulcers, myasthenia gravis, depression, thyroid disorder, heart diseases, or hypertension.

Take note that long-term use of steroidal medications such as prednisone generic may most likely lead to osteoporosis or bone loss, especially if you are smoking, if you are not exercising, if you lack calcium or Vitamin D in your body, or if your family has a history of osteoporotic conditions.

Prednisone generic is known to cause birth defects or low birth weight if you take it while on your first trimester.  Let your physician know that you plan to conceive or if you are already pregnant prior to taking prednisone generic.  In case you are currently breastfeeding, inform your physician about it, because prednisone generic can pass into the breast milk and may potentially harm a nursing baby.
